Following the preventive measures taken against COVID-19 (better known as coronavirus), the Etape Lochness, initially planned for April 26 was postponed to Sunday September 13, 2020. We attach the link to the organizers’ official statement here.

Despite this unfortunate delay, the Etape Lochness will run on Sunday September 13 in Inverness, in the Scottish Highland.

This popular cyclosportive race is said to be one of the most beautiful in the United Kingdom and attracts each year between 5,000 and 6,000 cyclists who make the trip to Scotland to enjoy an exceptional weekend in one of the most mythical places in the world: the Loch Ness.

The Etape Lochness is also an opportunity for two-wheel aficionados to raise funds against cancer, through the Macmillan Cancer Support, official partner of the event. The racers will enjoy a sumptuous 106 kilometer route around the famous Loch Ness and perhaps catch a glimpse of the even more famous inhabitant of the lake, Nessie?

Registrations are open and almost complete so don't wait! See you on September 13, 2020 for an unforgettable adventure in the Scottish Highland!

The Etape Lochness starts and finishes in Inverness, capital of the Scottish Highlands. The 106-kilometer route around the Loch Ness features a positive elevation climb of approximately 900 meters on closed roads.

Upon exiting Inverness, participants of the Etape Lochness will head off west, passing through Drumnarochit and Invermoriston before reaching Fort Augustus. Once past Fort Augustus, marking the halfway point of the race, the organizers offer an optional challenge, the 'King of the Mountain': a 9 km climb with slopes reaching up to 12%. After overcoming this difficulty, the route will start heading back towards Inverness by the south coast of Loch Ness, passing by the towns of Whitebridge, Foyers and Dores before reaching Eden Court in Inverness for the end of the race.

Three supply points will be available on the course.
