As a result of the preventive actions against COVID-19 (better known as coronavirus), the Girona GF test has had to cancel the event, the date is provisional, we will wait attentive to the news of the organization.
We have here the Girona Gran Fondo that will be held on October 10 ! The Girona Gran Fondo consists of a 125-kilometer cycle tour that allows us to cross spectacular and fast-paced landscapes from Girona to Olot and passing through the volcanic area of La Garrotxa.
In addition, for those who wish to extend their adventure, it is possible to extend the route up to 142 kilometers by making the timed climb to Rocacorba , one of the most famous hills in Girona with an ascent of 13.8K and 881 meters of unevenness . Rocacorba is famous in the cycling world as one of the best, but most difficult climbs in Girona , as its steep and unforgiving nature is not one that is tread lightly. Therefore, challengers are expected and advised to train properly for the event.
During the route, the cyclists will have four refreshment stations to regain strength and, to finish, all participants will be able to enjoy a great sausage, the awards ceremony, the podiums, as well as cava included.
The test is part of the Girona Cycling Festival that will last a whole week ( from June 8 to 14 ) that will feature three large events of great magnitude: Els Àngels Hill Climb , The Nocturn Barri Vell and the last one the event that concerns us ( Girona Gran Fondo ) and that will be the final climax to this week full of emotions and adrenaline.
Don't even think about making plans outside of Girona for that week!
The tour of the Girona Gran Fondo begins near the cathedral of Girona - a meeting and leisure point for all participants and companions. At 9 o'clock in the morning all the participants start the cycle tour towards Medinyà and Camós . 25 kilometers from the start, the first aid station is presented, where the cyclist can also decide whether to face the Rocacorba hill or continue with the short route.
