As a result of the preventive actions before the COVID-19 (better known as coronavirus), the Madrid - Segovía MTB test has had to modify its date, and postpone the event until 12/09/2020.

________________________________________________________________________

For the sixth consecutive year we will fill the 117 km between Madrid and Segovia with bikers on Saturday, September 12, 2020.

We will take the exit under the 4 Madrid Towers, in Montecarmelo. And we will arrive at the largest goal arch in the world, the Segovia aqueduct.

The test consists of two timed sections:

  • Madrid - Cercedilla, 60 kms
  • Cercedilla - Segovia, 51kms

In Cercedilla the rest area will be located with solid and liquid supplies, a technical assistance point and recovery massage. This section will be neutralized, so that all bikers enjoy the same rest and guarantee the safety of cyclists and citizens.

The final time of each biker will be the sum of the two stages and the estimated passing time neutralized by Cercedilla.

In this section, bikers will have a mandatory passage time of at least 40 minutes before starting the second timed section. If you exceed these 40 ', the extra time will be added to this second section. If the biker takes the start without consuming these 40 'for this 6km section, the 40' will also be added to his total time of the test.

Travel

SECTION: MADRID - CERCEDILLA
The first 60 kms to Cercedilla are marked by a route that goes down low without big ascents or technical sections but with a cumulative drop that wears you out. A route that at first glance may seem simple but if it is not dosed well it can be quite demanding.

  • Madrid: Km 0 - 706 m altitude
  • Cercedilla: Km 59 - 1,322 m altitude
  • Accumulated difference in altitude: 1,117 m

SECTION: CERCEDILLA - SEGOVIA
The second section is more high mountain terrain. As soon as we leave Cercedilla we will face the Alto del León with 7 kms of climb per track that is complicated in its final part at more than 1500m altitude.

Then we will link with the most technical part of the test with the descent to the Panera where a leg-breaking section will begin, which in this phase of the race can be very hard and complicated. The last 15kms are more affordable and we can shoot with more favorable terrain.

  • Cercedilla: Km 59 - 1,322 m altitude
  • Segovia: Km 107 - 986 m altitude
  • Accumulated difference in altitude: 1,210 m
