As a result of the preventive actions before the COVID-19 (better known as coronavirus), the Zurich Marató test in Barcelona has had to modify its date, postpone the event until October 25 or request a transfer of registration for the next edition.

-----------------------------------------

We have a confirmed date for a new edition of the Zurich Marató de Barcelona ! Come tour 42K through one of the most architecturally speaking cities in Europe and the world! Organized by UTE ASO RPM , it has a long history and is undoubtedly one of the greatest references in international athletics, since it was born in 1978!

A pleasant climate or a unique urban layout with great tourist attractions make the Zurich Marató de Barcelona or as this test is more commonly known, the Barcelona Marathon , make this test one of the most attractive circuits in Europe and one of the races with more participants than those carried out in Spain. In its last edition, the Barcelona Marathon managed to reach the not inconsiderable figure of 17,500 registered who toured the main streets of Barcelona .

Enjoy the city of Barcelona by participating in the Zurich Marató Barcelona!

Travel

The start of the Zurich Marathon in Barcelona will take place at 8:30 am on Av. Reina María Cristina .

Participants in the Barcelona Marathon will have a maximum time to complete the race: 6 hours from the time they pass the measuring band located on the same starting line.

To make this challenge more bearable and so that the most demanding runners can better manage their times, the organization makes available to the Hares runners who will set a fixed pace during the race. These will run the marathon at 2.45, 3.00, 3.15, 3.30, 3.45, 4.00 and 4.30.

Another of the strong points of this competition is its route, which passes through emblematic places in the city , such as these:

  • Plaza España: Built during the 1929 International Exposition and with more than 34,000 m2 it is presided over by two twin towers ("Venetian towers"), very similar to the Campanile of San Marcos in Venice.
  • El Passeig de Gràcia: The most glamorous street in Barcelona and at the same time a great showcase to enjoy Catalan modernist work: La Pedrera or Casa Batlló by Antoni Gaudí and Casa Amatller by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch declared World Heritage Sites .
  • Sagrada Familia: Maximum exponent of modernist architecture and the great unfinished work of Antoni Gaudí that has become one of the most visited monuments in Spain and Europe.
  • The Cathedral of the Sea: A work of the Catalan Gothic that was built during the 13th to 15th centuries on the old romantic cathedral, built in turn on a church from the Visigoth era.
