Registrations are now open for the Paris Versailles, a mythical and classic race that's been running since 1979 and will celebrate its 43rd edition on September 27th 2020!
Also known as 'La Grande Classique', this extremely popular 16 km race attracts every year 25,000 runners from all over the world who come to enjoy the sights, the unique festive atmosphere and the challenge of this uphill course. As the name suggests, the Paris Versailles links Paris to Versailles, France's old royal city, on a demanding course that starts at the feets of the Eiffel Tower and along the banks of the Seine river into the French capital's suburbs all the way to the world famous Palace of Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
And if that wasn't enough, 14 orchestras will be playing live music along the way to seal the deal. What else do you need to hear? Get your entries now for this classic Parisian race!
The Paris Versailles starts at the Western foot of the Eiffel Tower, right on the Quai Branly and heads to Issy-les-Moulinaux along the banks of the Seine river. These first flat and easy kilometers will serve as a warm-up for what's to come as racers will head towards Meudon and the first difficulty of the race: the Côte des Gardes, a 2 kilometer long hill into Meudon and the neighboring forest. The course continues with a short but steep downhill into Viroflay before reaching the final stretch and difficulty of the Paris Versailles: the Avenue de Paris and it's never-ending slight uphill all the way to the finish line in front of the Palace of Versailles.
Four pit stops offering refreshments will be located along the course as well as 14 orchestras playing to cheer on the competitors.
