As a result of the preventive actions against COVID-19 (better known as coronavirus), the Rotor Sierra Norte test has had to modify its date, and postpone the event until October 11.
This year the Rotor Sierra Norte Cycle Tour will be in the Madrid town of Buitrago de Lozoya. This Sunday, June 7, 2020.
The present test has two routes, the Great fund , with 143 kms and 2835 m D + and the Medio Fondo , with 85 km and 1543 m D +. The two routes maintain the essence of this cycling tour, discovering the most impressive corners of Madrid's Sierra Norte on low-traffic roads. And this year the 2020 edition, and thanks to the support of ROTOR , a commemorative jersey will be given to all participants with which they must participate in the march . This march has been cataloged as SPORT CYCLE TEST, which makes it possible not to circulate neutralized during the entire route.
Join this cycling tour and get to know and enjoy the northern mountains of Madrid.
The test has two route options.
|Big backyard||143 kilometers|
We will take the exit from Buitrago del Lozoya heading North along the M-137, passing through towns such as Gandullas and Madarcos, where a 7-kilometer climb begins and an average slope of 3.2%, we will cross Montejo de la Sierra towards El Cardoso, where we will find the first provisioning (PK 32.7). We leave it, and we go to the beautiful and at the same time hard port of La Hiruela PK 45. Once we have passed the port we will find a long descent and a practically constant leveling until the second aid station located after Prádena del Rincón (PK 58.6) . We left the second aid station towards Robledillo de la Jara crossing the Puentes Viejas Dam, Mangirón and the El Villar Dam. Upon reaching Robledillo de la Jara we take a slight right turn where we begin the ascent to the antennas at the top of Matachines / La Fragüela (PK 78.7). We enter the descent to the Riato river and a road with incredible views on the way to La Puebla where we will find the third aid station (PK 83 - El Riato). We started the climb to the port of La Puebla , undoubtedly a great unknown in the Madrid mountains. At the top we will have time to recover going down 3 km to turn left and join the Prádena del Rincón road again. We will go through the aid station 2 again, which will become the fourth (PK 116). We will take the M-127 road to cross the towns of Paredes de Buitrago, Serrada de la Fuente, Berzosa del Lozoya and Robledillo de la Jara. From Robledillo de la Jara very favorable terrain until crossing the El Villar Dam again.
|Medium Background||85 kilometers|
The departure will take place at 10:00 a.m., towards Mangirón, where we will meet our colleagues from the Gran Fondo March as they pass through PK 65.6, and PK 6.8 in our case. From here we will follow the exact same route, sharing kilometers together.
