In its quest to establish itself as one of the best mountain events on the national calendar, Ultrail La Covatilla takes another step next season by joining the Skyrunner National Series Spain and Andorra circuit, a select racing league that comprises the 7 best skyrunning tests in the Iberian Peninsula. He will do it with the Trail La Covatilla modality, 40 kilometers away and 2,450 meters of positive slopes, a race that offers spectacular landscapes to the participants combining technical stretch areas such as Las Lagunas del Trampal and Hoya Moros with more friendly ones that allow fast athletes achieve fast paces. The entire profile runs between 1,000 and 2,500 meters of altitude and the start and finish are located in the town of Béjar , province of Salamanca .

The Trail La Covatilla will not only be integrated into the Skyrunner National Series Spain and Andorra as one more test, but will also grant a 20% bonus to the athletes' score as it becomes the last and decisive race on the circuit. An incentive that will surely lead first-class national runners to give their best in the Sierra de Béjar .

Likewise, the fifth edition of Ultrail La Covatilla already has a confirmed celebration date for next year, the weekend of October 3 and 4 . In this way, he is a few days ahead of the space that he usually occupied in the calendar. The program of the event is not expected to undergo major changes, so once again the three classic modalities will be carried out with the same routes and crossing points: X-Cross (17 km), Trail La Covatilla (40 km) and Ultrail La Covatilla (80 km). The registration period for this fifth edition will open in May and the number of bib numbers available will be 200, 300 and 200 respectively.


The star modality will once again be the Ultra race, 80 kilometers long and 4,800 meters positive, a high mountain race that requires runners with great versatility and experience in this type of event. The first half of the route runs through the highest and most spectacular parts of the mountains, reaching 2,400 meters of altitude, while the second visits emblematic places such as the Roman Baths of Baños de Montemayor, the Jewish quarter of Hervás or the towns of Puerto de Béjar and Candelario, joining them through paths that cut through its forests.
